A traditional retreat for men. All men are welcome. Our traditional retreats include Mass, conferences (talks), private Adoration, Stations of the Cross and much more.

Retreat Director: Fr. Dennis O’Donnell

Father Dennis JW O’Donnell, Ph.D. is the coordinator of Integrated Health Services (IHS). This program offered by Holy Redeemer Health System provides a holistic, integrated assessment of a person from a physical, psychological and spiritual perspective. Based on the assessment, consultation is offered to help a person’s decision to further enhance his or her health in a balanced, integrated manner.

From 1989 to 2006, Father O’Donnell served as the Rector and Spiritual Director of St. Joseph-in-the-Hills, the Malvern Retreat House in Pennsylvania.

In 1996, Father co-founded an orphanage in Honduras, Amigos de Jesus. Along with the children in the orphanage, Amigos de Jesus financially supports two other orphanages serving over 200 abused and abandoned children who are now given a safe home to live and grow intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

From 1982 to 1989, he was the assistant superintendent for Catholic Education in Philadelphia responsible for five special education day schools and for the curriculum in the secondary schools. He also had the responsibility for BLOCS, a development program of business leaders in Philadelphia for the Catholic schools.

Between the years of 1980 and 1982, he studied at Fordham University and received a Ph.D.

Between 1976 and 1980, Father O’Donnell was a teacher and chaplain at Cardinal Dougherty High School and a chaplain for the Dominican Sisters of Catherine de Ricci, who staff a retreat center primarily for women.

Immediately after ordination in 1974, he was assigned to Maternity BVM Parish in Philadelphia, where he served as an associate-pastor for two years. After ordination to the Deaconate, Father O’Donnell was assigned as Assistant Chaplain at Philadelphia State Mental Hospital.

Father conducts weekend retreats and days of recollection for various groups (senior citizens, married couples, faculty, students). Father also directs retreats for religious, clergy and parish missions/retreats throughout the USA.
