Retreat Director: Deacon Michael Pascarella
Deacon Michael Pascarella, Jr. grew up in Saint Lucy’s Parish (now closed) which was located in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Roman Catholic High School, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University, a Master of Science degree from West Chester University, and a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He is a 1992 graduate of the Church Ministry Institute. In 2006, he entered Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, and was ordained a permanent deacon on June 2, 2012, for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is currently assigned as the Associate to the Vicar for Clergy for Permanent Deacons, with a secondary assignment to Epiphany of Our Lord Parish in Plymouth Meeting, PA, with additional liturgical duties at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and as a Master of Ceremonies. Prior to his appointment to his Archdiocesan post by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M., Cap, he enjoyed a 35 year career in law enforcement. In addition, Deacon Pascarella has spent over 25 years as a volunteer firefighter, umpire and youth baseball coach. Deacon Pascarella has been married for over 30 years and has twin sons. Deacon Pascarella is also a “Man of Malvern,” having made over 40 weekend retreats. He was originally a member of Our Lord of the Sea group. He is a former Associate Captain of Our Lady of Lourdes Group, and the founding Captain of Our Lady of the Rosary Family Retreat.
