Rev. William F. Gaffney, a veteran Redemptorist Missionary of 54 years, has been a pastor, a coordinator of a retreat house and now is a Spiritual Director for the Sisters of Life. He has given parish missions throughout the U.S.A., Canada and the Caribbean. He has directed retreats for priests, deacons and sisters, and over the years he also has led countless Marriage Encounter weekends. This work has enabled Fr. Gaffney to develop a deeper understanding of the joys and trials of families.
Deacon Michael Pascarella, Jr. grew up in Saint Lucy’s Parish (now closed) which was located in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University and a Master of Science degree from West Chester University. He is a 1992 graduate of the Church Ministry Institute. In 2006, he entered Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary and was ordained a permanent deacon on June 2, 2012, for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is assigned to Epiphany of Our Lord Parish in Plymouth Meeting, PA with additional liturgical duties at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Deacon Pascarella is also a Master of Arts candidate in the Pastoral Theology program at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He has enjoyed a 34-year career in law enforcement and has also spent over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter and youth baseball coach. Deacon Pascarella has been married for 29 years and has twin teenage sons. Deacon Pascarella is also a “Man of Malvern,” having made over 40 weekend retreats. He is an Associate Captain of Our Lady of Lourdes Group and the Captain of Our Lady of the Rosary Family Retreat.
