Malvern Retreat House is happy to announce that José Antonio Meléndez Rodríguez will be coming to the retreat house for two special performances. Tony is a Nicaraguan American guitar player, composer, singer, and songwriter, who was born without arms and plays the guitar with his feet. He will performing during the Knights of Immaculata Men of Malvern Retreat, and then he will give a performance for all interested retreatants and guests on Sunday, November 20.
In 1987, Meléndez sang Never Be the Same while playing the guitar in a special performance for Pope John Paul II. The Pope was visibly moved by Tony’s performance. Currently, Tony and his band have a busy concert schedule. He also gives motivational talks, has written a book, and campaigns for the pro-life cause.
