During the fall of 1947, construction began on a new dining hall capable of seating 300 individuals. The hall, funded by a donation from the builder John McShain, was completed in December of that year. It was named Memorial Hall in honor of those who served during WWII and, in particular, in remembrance of the 72 Men of Malvern who died in duty.
