Monsignor Thomas Mullelly

Msgr. Tom Mullelly was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He is a graduate of Queen of Peace School, Ardsley and Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote. Monsignor graduated in 1974 from Mount Saint Mary’s University (summa cum laude) with a degree in political science. He has received master’s degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (counseling in higher education); Immaculate Conception Seminary, the graduate school of theology and pastoral ministry of Seton Hall University and from Princeton Theological Seminary. Monsignor received his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from the Beasley School of Law at Temple University.
Ordained a priest in service to the Diocese of Trenton in 1980, he has served in parish ministry, as director of the diocesan office of the Pontifical Mission Aid Societies and as Master of Ceremonies to the Most Reverend George W. Ahr. From 1989 till 1995 Monsignor Mullelly served as an administrator and lecturer in the sociology department at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, MD. In 1995 He was appointed Director of the Aquinas Institute and Roman Catholic Chaplain at Princeton University. While at Princeton University he served as a lecturer in the Politics Department (teaching precepts in Constitutional Interpretation and Civil Liberties). He served in that capacity until 2011 when he was appointed Episcopal Vicar for Clergy and Consecrated Life and Director of Seminarians by The Most Reverend David M. O’Connell, C.M., Bishop of Trenton. In addition to his diocesan duties, Msgr. Mullelly is currently serving as interim Roman Catholic Chaplain at Princeton University.
